These Sussex Spaniels live with us in the New Forest, Hampshire, England. They are active and healthy dogs but need plenty of socialisation when young. They are dogs of great character and make us laugh every day. They have good noses for pheasant and other game and we regard them as good honest workers. They are equally happy in a Show Ring and are quite partial to a seat by the log fire.
We hope you enjoy the photos. When considering a Sussex Spaniel do understand that this is not a "Toy" breed. About 16" high, they are a strong, well-boned dog and an adult will weigh 50lbs/23kgs. The breed has retained its natural working ability, so you should be prepared with fair and patient training, to direct the dogs' energy to suit your lifestyle. This breed was identified by the UK Kennel Club as a 'Vulnerable British Breed' with registrations under 100 annually.
If you are interested
in a Sussex Spaniel please feel free to contact us, but please tell us something
about yourselves, your experience with dogs and where you live etc.
